MOSDOH Dental School Interview (ATSU Missouri) 2026-27

ATSU-MOSDOH DMD guide from its own pages: its undated DMD page lists two 30-minute interviews, AADSAS Dec 1, DAT and secondary Jan 31.

MOSDOH's undated DMD page describes two 30-minute 1:1 interviews, one with a faculty member and one with an admissions staff member, in morning or afternoon sessions on an in-person day in Kirksville or a virtual day, conducted between September and March. Here is what MOSDOH publishes, where its pages differ, what applicants report, and how to prepare. return ( <> ATSU-MOSDOH DMD Requirements and Class Profile A.T. Still University's Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) in Kirksville, Missouri, calls its DMD "a four-year, in-person professional degree designed to prepare students as skilled clinicians and community-minded oral health leaders." The first two years are on the Kirksville campus, where students complete dental simulation exercises in the campus simulation clinic. Its fact sheet puts years three and four in St. Louis, where MOSDOH has partnered with Affinia Healthcare to provide the core dental clinical

curriculum. You apply through AADSAS, and ATSU emails its secondary application to qualified applicants. (ATSU's Arizona school, ASDOH, has its own pages, deadlines and interview day; see our ATSU Arizona guide . Nothing in this guide comes from ASDOH's pages.) MOSDOH's fact sheet for the 2025–26 academic year publishes these figures for its 2025 entering class: Figure. 2025 entering class. Note. Applications received. 1,762. MOSDOH's count. Applicants interviewed. 256. MOSDOH's count. Class size. 63. A later class: MOSDOH's July 30, 2026 news post on the Class of 2030, which started in July 2026, has “64 new dental students” in its headline. Average GPA. 3.51. Average science GPA: 3.41. DAT Academic Average. 19.21. Old 1–30 scale; no 200–600 figure given. Average age. 24. 24 states represented. Which DAT scale is 19.21 on?. The old 1–30 scale. The DAT has been scored from 200 to 600 since 1 March 2025, and no score on that scale can be

19.21. MOSDOH's fact sheet prints no scale label and gives no new-scale figure for this class, and we don't convert an average. (For orientation only: since 1 March 2025 the ADA reports every DAT score to AADSAS on the 200–600 scale, older attempts converted, and its Table 1 puts an old Academic Average of 19 at 410 and 20 at 420.) A class average is not a minimum or a target: MOSDOH's pages publish no minimum or target DAT score on either scale, and beyond requiring the DAT, the only DAT rules they give are about timing (below). The fact sheet gives applications, interviews and class size but not how many offers MOSDOH made, so no acceptance rate can be worked out from its figures, and we don't compute one. In state or out of state? The MOSDOH pages we read state no preference for Missouri residents, no quota and no separate rules for out-of-state applicants, and they publish no in-state count. They do limit who may apply: "Applicants

must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents," and the catalog adds that students who are non-citizens or not permanent residents "are not eligible to apply for the DMD program at this time." Prerequisite coursework Course. Minimum. General biology. One year of lecture and lab, at least 8 semester (12 quarter) hours. General chemistry. One year of lecture and lab, at least 8 semester (12 quarter) hours. Organic chemistry. One year of lecture and lab, at least 8 semester (12 quarter) hours. Physics (algebra-based). One year of lecture and lab, at least 8 semester (12 quarter) hours. Human anatomy. 3 semester (4 quarter) hours. Human physiology. 3 semester (4 quarter) hours. Biochemistry. 3 semester (4 quarter) hours; “minimum 300-level” on the DMD page, “upper division” in the catalog and on the fact sheet. English composition/technical writing. At least 3 semester (4 quarter) hours. Grades and where to take them: applicants "must

complete the following courses with a grade of C or higher prior to matriculation (C- is not acceptable)." The DMD page says all prerequisite coursework "must be completed at a regionally accredited U.S. institution"; the catalog says "from a US institution accredited by a US Department of Education institutional accreditor." Three years of college: "A minimum of three years of college or university coursework from a regionally accredited institution in the United States is required (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours), although a baccalaureate degree is preferred." GPA: "Applicants must have a minimum cumulative and science grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale (3.0 recommended)." The page adds, "The overall and science GPAs, institutions attended, and rigor of academic coursework are all assessed on an individual basis." The DAT: required. Official scores go through AADSAS "by January 31 of the application year," and "Scores

older than three years will not be accepted." MOSDOH's pages differ on the timing (see the callout below). Two letters: "a minimum of two (2) letters of recommendation: one from a science faculty member or committee letter and one from a dentist." The catalog words it "One letter from a pre-medical committee/health professions advisor or science faculty member, and one letter from a dentist." Shadowing, leadership and service: the page lists "Significant clinical shadowing or experience (100 hours strongly recommended)" and "Significant leadership and service to underserved populations (100 hours strongly recommended)" among its application requirements. The catalog lists "shadowing in dentistry" and "community service benefiting underserved populations" among the criteria of its holistic review, with no number of hours. Documents by mail: the page says "Mail all supporting application documents to" its Admissions Department, 800 W

Jefferson Street, Kirksville, MO 63501. It doesn't say which documents those are, so ask admissions@atsu.edu before you send anything. What it evaluates: "Applicants are evaluated on academic coursework, performance on the DAT, the AADSAS essay, letters of evaluation, and interviews. Demonstrated community service through volunteerism or service-oriented employment is preferred." DAT timing: MOSDOH's pages differ. The DMD page says AADSAS must carry your official scores "by January 31 of the application year" and lists "DAT completed by: January 31"; its "Scores older than three years will not be accepted" doesn't say three years from when. The 2026–27 catalog says "Submit US Dental Admissions Test (DAT) scores that have been taken within three years from the date of application" and gives no date. The archived 2025–26 catalog said scores had to be submitted "on or before December 1 or the application year" (as printed), and "No scores

older than three years will be accepted." Take the stricter reading of each: have your official scores in AADSAS by December 1, the earliest of those dates, from a DAT that will still be under three years old on January 31, the DMD page's date for scores (counting back from your application date, as the catalog does, is more lenient), and confirm with admissions@atsu.edu. CASPer or Kira?. MOSDOH's DMD admissions page, its fact sheet and the DMD entry of its 2026–27 catalog don't mention CASPer, Acuity Insights, Kira or any similar assessment. Besides AADSAS and your coursework, what they do ask for includes the DAT, two letters of recommendation, the secondary application with its fee and, if you are invited, an interview. No post in the forum's MOSDOH threads for 2025–26 or 2026–27 mentions an assessment either. To confirm a rule where MOSDOH's pages differ, email admissions@atsu.edu, the address on its contact page and in its catalog.

Its contact page lists 660.626.2237, and its fact sheet lists 866.626.2878. The MOSDOH Interview: What the School Says MOSDOH describes its interviews in the "Applicant interviews" section of its DMD admissions page. That section and the page's DMD deadlines carry no date and name no cycle (the page's dated lines are elsewhere: the Still Scholars program's 2026 cycle, the international-dentist track's January 2027 cohort, and immunization instructions for students starting in July 2026), though ATSU's own sitemap lists the page as last modified on July 23, 2026, so treat what follows as what MOSDOH currently publishes, and go by your invitation. By invitation, from the final phase of selection. The 2026–27 catalog says "Applicants who reach the final phase of the selection process will be invited for an interview. All applicants selected for admission are interviewed prior to acceptance." The DMD page says "Applicants are selected for

interviews and admission on a rolling basis, with interviews conducted between September and March." Two 30-minute interviews. "Each interview candidate will complete two 30-minute interviews, one with a faculty member and one with an Admissions staff member." The page's schedules call them "1:1 Interviews." Morning or afternoon. "Interview days are offered in both morning and afternoon sessions." In person in Kirksville, or virtual. The page publishes a schedule for an in-person day at the Tinning Education Center (800 West Jefferson Street, Kirksville, MO 63501) and one for a virtual day. It doesn't say how applicants are assigned to either, or which MOSDOH is using this cycle. For the trip, ATSU's undated Visit Kirksville page says "ATSU Admissions offers a complimentary shuttle for interview candidates from the airport or La Plata train station to hotels and the campus," with requests submitted through an online form, and warns

"THERE IS NO TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE AT THE KIRKSVILLE AIRPORT," telling visitors to book a ride with a local service in advance. It doesn't say which airport the shuttle serves. The rest of the day. A welcome and admissions presentation, a "fun fact survey" and, on the in-person day, white coat sizing, a self-guided Museum of Osteopathic Medicine tour, lunch with Student Ambassadors and a campus tour. On the virtual day the schedule lists a virtual campus tour and a Q&A with Student Ambassadors. The page doesn't say what the fun fact survey is or whether anything besides the interviews is evaluated. Dress and phones. The page's "Dressing for an interview" list says "Wear a solid, conservative suit that fits you well," "Bring a padfolio with a professional cover to store your notes and papers. It is okay to take notes, so bring a nice pen, as well," and "Leave your earbuds and cell phone in your car." It doesn't say how the list

applies to the virtual day. Morning interviews. The page's schedules, row by row: Time. In-person day (Kirksville). Virtual day. 8:15 a.m.. ATSU-MOSDOH Welcome and admissions presentation. The virtual afternoon list shows the 1:1 interview block twice, at 1:15 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m., and has no welcome row, which the virtual morning list has at 8:15 a.m. The page explains neither, so follow the times in your invitation. What MOSDOH doesn't publish. On the pages we read, MOSDOH doesn't say what the interviews ask; whether your interviewers will have read your application; who the faculty member and the

admissions staff member will be beyond those two roles; how the two interviews are scored or weighed; how applicants are assigned to the in-person or virtual day, or to a morning or afternoon session; which days of the week the interviews fall on; what the fun fact survey is; which video platform the virtual day uses; or which cycle these schedules describe. Because you will have two separate 30-minute interviews, prepare a clear account of your path, your motivation and your service that works whether or not whoever interviews you has read your file. Separate routes with their own interviews. The same page describes two other routes. For undergraduates, the Still Scholars Early Assurance Program says "interviews will be conducted in early fall" and "A final pre-matriculation interview will be conducted in early fall of the student's senior year to confirm early assurance"; its 2026 cycle was open May 18 through August 1, 2026. For

internationally trained dentists, the Advanced Standing International Dentist (ASID) track says "Selected applicants will be invited to an in-person interview and skills test at the St. Louis Dental Center in St. Louis, Missouri, held in August or September." The page doesn't say how either interview relates to the DMD interview above, and this guide covers the DMD for AADSAS applicants. What applicants report These are posts on a public applicant forum, and an invite tracker that a forum volunteer compiles there from applicants' reports, not MOSDOH's words: This cycle (2026–27): the forum's invite tracker (compiled by a volunteer from applicants' reports), last updated 25 September 2026, lists MOSDOH's first invitations on 29 July and a first interview date of 13 August, in person. That August date is before the September in which MOSDOH's page says interviews begin, and the page is undated, so we can't say which is right. As of 9

October 2026 the forum's 2026–27 MOSDOH thread holds one report: on 1 September, one applicant (residency "OOS CA") wrote that they were notified by email on August 28 and listed the method of interview as in person, with no interview date. It neither confirms nor contradicts the tracker. Last cycle (2025–26): the tracker, last updated 22 October 2025, listed MOSDOH's first invitations on 14 July 2025 and a first interview date of 18 September, in person. On 14 July the forum member who compiles the tracker wrote in the MOSDOH thread, "First interview invites went out today. Earliest I was given was 10/9 in person, but if anyone has an earlier interview time, lmk and I will update the tracker." Three applicants who listed their residency as "OOS" posted notifications by email. One, notified 28 July 2025, listed "In-Person 11/06 and 11/13"; another, notified 25 July and posting on 6 August, listed "In-Person"; a third, notified 22

October 2025, listed "In person, Jan 22 and Jan 29 available." On 15 December 2025 the first of these accounts posted "Accepted at 8:00am today via phone call." On 28 January 2026 another applicant wrote "Got an invite earlier this month" and asked whether anyone had waitlist statistics; no one replied in the thread. Interview dates reported or offered: 18 September and 9 October 2025, 6 and 13 November 2025, 22 and 29 January 2026, and 13 August 2026. All seven fall on a Thursday (our calendar check; the years of the October, November and January dates come from the posts' own dates, those of the September and August dates from the trackers' cycles). MOSDOH's page names no days of the week. The format: no post in either thread describes the interviews themselves: how many interviewers, who they were, how long, whether they had read the application, or what was asked. Every post that states a method lists it as in person. MOSDOH's page

also publishes a virtual day, so go by your invitation. Our 2026–27 interview tracker sets MOSDOH's row beside every other US and Puerto Rico school on the forum's tracker. MOSDOH's Admissions Timeline MOSDOH's DMD page prints no years for its DMD deadlines and names no cycle for them. By our reading, for the 2026–27 cycle (the class that ATSU's academic calendar calls the Class of 2031), December 1 is December 1, 2026 and January 31 is January 31, 2027. The page numbers the application process itself: Applicants "submit materials by logging into the ADEA

AADSAS portal and completing the online application." "The application is forwarded to Admissions Processing Center for verification of completeness." Upon completion of the AADSAS application, ATSU's secondary application "is emailed to qualified applicants." (The catalog words it "Applicants meeting the minimum GPA requirements will be sent instructions to complete an online secondary application.") "The secondary application is returned to the Admissions Processing Center, along with the application fee." "The application is then forwarded to the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health campus for review." "Applicants are selected for interviews and admission on a rolling basis, with interviews conducted between September and March." The page doesn't explain step 5, which names the Arizona school, and the catalog entry for the DMD doesn't repeat it. If you want to confirm where your file is reviewed, email admissions@atsu.edu. When.

What MOSDOH says. September–March. Interviews, by invitation: “conducted between September and March”. December 1 (no year printed). “Application submitted to ADEA AADSAS: December 1”; December 1, 2026 by our reading. January 31 (no year printed). “DAT completed by: January 31” and “Secondary application submitted: January 31”; January 31, 2027 by our reading. Accepted students, before matriculation. A signed admission agreement, non-refundable deposits, official transcripts from every institution attended, an immunization record, a criminal background check through the University's approved vendor and a proof of health insurance form (the catalog lists them without dates or amounts). July 12, 2027. ATSU's academic calendar lists the DMD Class of 2031's program start as July 12, 2027 (end May 16, 2031) and says the calendar is “subject to change at any time by official action of A.T. Still University”; that this cycle's class is the

Class of 2031 is our reading, since the Class of 2030 began on July 13, 2026. MOSDOH gives no date for its first offers, no deposit amounts, and no amount or content for its secondary application: its page mentions "the application fee" without a figure. January 31 comes after December 1. MOSDOH lists January 31, not December 1, for the DAT and the secondary application, and says applicants are selected for interviews and admission "on a rolling basis." It doesn't say whether finishing earlier changes how your file is handled or when secondary applications are sent. If you can finish well before the dates, do, and ask admissions@atsu.edu if you are planning to test or submit your secondary application late in the window. What MOSDOH Looks For The MOSDOH pages we read include no interview rubric. They do give the criteria behind its review, the personal qualities it says it assesses, and its mission. Its catalog says "Selection is based

on a holistic review of several criteria including: cumulative and science grade point average, recommendations, community service benefiting underserved populations, volunteerism, shadowing in dentistry, dental admissions test (DAT) scores, and personal interviews." Put together, they make a practical checklist for the two interviews: Service to underserved populations: the catalog reviews applications on "community service to underserved populations," the DMD page asks for "Significant leadership and service to underserved populations (100 hours strongly recommended)," and MOSDOH says it "aims to increase access to oral healthcare for Missouri's most vulnerable populations by addressing the state's critical shortage of dentists." Have one specific story and what it taught you. Clinical exposure and interest in dentistry: the catalog lists "clinical exposure" and "interest in dentistry and oral health" among what completed applications

are reviewed on, and the DMD page asks for "Significant clinical shadowing or experience." Describe what you saw over time and what it confirmed for you. ATSU's university-wide admissions page warns against "Demonstrating only a cursory understanding of the healthcare career field you are wishing to enter." Compassion, integrity, concern for others, interpersonal skills, interest and motivation: MOSDOH's technical standards say these "are all personal qualities that will be assessed during the admission and educational processes." Prepare a specific example for each. Academics: applications are reviewed on "the quality of academic performance," and the DMD page says "institutions attended, and rigor of academic coursework are all assessed on an individual basis." Be ready to explain your transcript plainly: a trend, a hard semester, why you chose your courses. Extracurriculars, work, life experience and leadership: the catalog lists

"extracurricular activities, work and life experiences," and the DMD page asks for "Significant leadership." Pick the experiences that show who you are, not a list. Calming patients, taking feedback, working under stress: the technical standards ask a candidate to "manage apprehensive patients with a range of moods and behaviors in a tactful, culturally accepted, congenial, personal manner," say a candidate "must reasonably be expected to accept criticism and respond by appropriate modification of behavior," and expect students to "function effectively under stress, adapt to changing environments, display flexibility." Have an example of each. Professionalism: ATSU's university-wide admissions page says "We look for professionalism in our applicants. Every part of the application process is a part of our decision, so being professional is a must!" and advises you to "ask a trusted professional to conduct at least one mock interview with

you." Whole person care: MOSDOH says it "prepares graduates to lead the future of greater access to and advocacy for dental health – the gateway to overall, whole body health and wellness." MOSDOH's own interview-day advice (its dress list). "Wear a solid, conservative suit that fits you well." "Wear minimal jewelry or accessories." "Bring a padfolio with a professional cover to store your notes and papers. It is okay to take notes, so bring a nice pen, as well." "Leave your earbuds and cell phone in your car." ATSU's university-wide admissions page adds, for an interview day, "Leave your cell phone in the car, or turned off (not just silenced) in your bag." The best Why MOSDOH material is in its curriculum and its clinics. MOSDOH's DMD page says its curriculum is "integrative, interweaving core disciplines across human systems, preclinical, and dental sciences, with a strong emphasis on the application of clinical medicine and

dentistry." The first two years are in Kirksville, where the simulation clinic, which spans over 7,000 square feet, "includes 68 student workstations." In St. Louis, "third-year students work under the direct supervision of licensed ATSU-MOSDOH dental faculty" at the St. Louis Dental Center. In their fourth year, "students engage in three external clinical rotations, totaling about 10 weeks" at "over 50 sites," including community health centers, Indian Health Service facilities and mobile dental clinics. The page says all students receive a Graduate Certificate in Dental Public Health, whose five courses are "included in ATSU-MOSDOH tuition"; a student who wants the MPH-D takes 10 more courses, "the financial responsibility of the student." Its service-learning page says students "participate in at least two volunteer outreach activities each year." Connect one of these to how you want to learn and whom you want to serve. The practice

Its DMD page describes two 30-minute interviews one with a faculty member and one with an Admissions staff member and doesn t say whether either will have read your application so build a 90-second answer that stands on its who you are the experiences that led you to dentistry and why MOSDOH is the next step. Why dentistry? MOSDOH s DMD page asks for “Significant clinical shadowing or experience (100 hours strongly recommended) ” and its catalog reviews applications on “clinical exposure” and “interest in dentistry and oral health.” Anchor your answer in something specific you saw while shadowing then say what it confirmed for you. Why MOSDOH? Use what MOSDOH says about its a simulation clinic with 68 student workstations in Kirksville for the first two years patient care at the St. Louis Dental Center in partnership with Affinia Healthcare in the third and fourth years

external rotations at over 50 sites and a Graduate Certificate in Dental Public Health. Connect one of them to how you want to learn and whom you want to serve; the location alone is not a reason. Where do you see yourself practicing and why? MOSDOH says it “aims to increase access to oral healthcare for Missouri s most vulnerable populations by addressing the state s critical shortage of dentists.” Name a place you know a need you have seen there and what you would bring to it. If you are not from Missouri be honest about your plans and about what draws you to MOSDOH. Behavioral Tell me about your community service. What did it teach you? MOSDOH s catalog reviews “community service to underserved populations ” and its DMD page asks for “Significant leadership and service to underserved populations (100 hours strongly recommended).” Pick one experience describe the people you served with respect and say what it taught you and how it

shapes the dentist you want to be. Describe a leadership role and what you accomplished in it. The DMD page asks for “Significant leadership ” and the catalog reviews “extracurricular activities work and life experiences.” Pick a time you took responsibility for an outcome not just a title and say what changed because of you. Tell me about a time you received critical feedback. MOSDOH s technical standards say a candidate “must reasonably be expected to accept criticism and respond by appropriate modification of behavior.” Name the feedback what you changed and the evidence that it worked. Tell me about a time you worked under pressure or had to adapt to a change. The technical standards expect students to “function effectively under stress adapt to changing environments display flexibility.” Describe one demanding what you were carrying what changed how you adjusted and what you would do differently. Ethical / Scenario A patient is

anxious and upset before treatment. How do you handle it? MOSDOH s technical standards ask a candidate to “manage apprehensive patients with a range of moods and behaviors in a tactful culturally accepted congenial personal manner.” Show that you would acknowledge the fear explain each step in plain words agree on a signal to pause and involve your supervising dentist if the patient wants to stop. A patient needs treatment they cannot afford. What do you do? MOSDOH says it “aims to increase access to oral healthcare for Missouri s most vulnerable populations.” Acknowledge the patient without judgment explore legitimate options with your supervisor such as phased treatment or a community clinic and never lower the standard of care. Show your reasoning; a question like this rarely has a single right answer. You see a classmate cheating on an exam. What do you do? MOSDOH s purpose statement pairs “oral health competency ethics integrity

leadership service professionalism and excellence” with compassion altruism and community focus. Describe an escalation path from a direct conversation to the proper channels and say why integrity matters when patients trust your license. Prepare for two separate 30-minute interviews MOSDOH s DMD page says “Each interview candidate will complete two 30-minute interviews one with a faculty member and one with an Admissions staff member.” It doesn t say whether either will have read your application so be ready to tell your own story clearly in each with specific examples. Practice answering out loud in 30-minute blocks. Be ready for either interview day MOSDOH publishes a schedule for an in-person day at the Tinning Education Center in Kirksville and one for a virtual day and doesn t say how applicants are assigned. The forum s invite tracker which a volunteer compiles from applicants reports lists MOSDOH s interviews as in person in

both recent cycles but go by your invitation. For the in-person day ATSU s Visit Kirksville page says Admissions offers “a complimentary shuttle for interview candidates from the airport or La Plata train station to hotels and the campus ” requested through an online form; for a virtual day set up your camera light and sound in advance. Show service and shadowing with specifics MOSDOH s catalog reviews “community service to underserved populations ” and its DMD page asks for “Significant leadership and service to underserved populations (100 hours strongly recommended)” and “Significant clinical shadowing or experience (100 hours strongly recommended).” Prepare one specific story from each and what it taught you. phone in your car.” ATSU s university-wide admissions page adds for an interview day “Leave your cell phone in the car or turned off (not just silenced) in your bag.” The page doesn t say how its dress list applies to the virtual day. calendar (subject to change) What is the MOSDOH dental school interview format? MOSDOH s DMD page which is undated says “Each interview candidate will complete two 30-minute interviews one with a faculty member and one with an Admissions staff member. Interview days are offered in both morning and afternoon sessions.” Its schedules call them “ 1 Interviews (two 30-minute interviews with faculty and admissions staff) ” alongside a welcome and admissions presentation a “fun fact survey” and tours. Its 2026–27 catalog adds “All applicants selected for admission are interviewed prior to acceptance.” MOSDOH s pages don t say what is asked whether your interviewers will have read your application or how the two interviews are weighed. Is the MOSDOH interview virtual or in person? MOSDOH s DMD page publishes an in-person interview day at the Tinning Education Center 800 West Jefferson Street Kirksville MO 63501 and a virtual interview day. It

doesn t say how applicants are assigned to one or the other or which it is using this cycle. The forum s invite tracker which a volunteer compiles from applicants reports lists MOSDOH s interviews as in person in both 2025–26 and 2026–27 and the four applicants in the forum s MOSDOH threads who stated a method all listed in person. Go by your invitation. Does MOSDOH use the MMI? The MOSDOH pages we read its DMD page and the DMD entry of its catalog describe no MMI stations or two 30-minute interviews one with a faculty member and one with an Admissions staff member. No post in the forum s MOSDOH threads for 2025–26 or 2026–27 describes how the interviews run. Prepare for two separate 30-minute interviews which its schedule calls “ 1 Interviews.” Does MOSDOH require CASPer or Kira for dental school? MOSDOH s DMD admissions page its fact sheet and the DMD entry of its 2026–27 catalog don t mention CASPer Acuity Insights Kira or any

similar assessment. Besides AADSAS and your coursework what they do ask for includes the DAT two letters of recommendation the secondary application with its fee and if you are invited an interview. No post in the forum s MOSDOH threads for 2025–26 or 2026–27 mentions an assessment either. What GPA and DAT do I need for MOSDOH? MOSDOH s DMD page says “Applicants must have a minimum cumulative and science grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale (3.0 recommended) ” and that GPAs institutions attended and rigor of coursework “are all assessed on an individual basis.” It publishes no minimum or target DAT score. For context its fact sheet gives the 2025 entering class s average GPA as 3.51 (science 3.41) and its DAT Academic Average as 19.21 on the old 1–30 scale; these are class averages not minimums and the fact sheet gives no 200–600 figure. The page says “Scores older than three years will not be accepted ” and the catalog says

scores “taken within three years from the date of application.” Confirm DAT timing with admissions@atsu.edu. Does MOSDOH accept out-of-state applicants? The MOSDOH pages we read don t answer this they state no preference for Missouri residents no quota and no separate rules for out-of-state applicants and publish no in-state count. They do say “Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents ” and MOSDOH s fact sheet lists 24 states represented in its 2025 entering class of 63. The four applicants in the forum s MOSDOH threads who listed their residency all wrote OOS (out of state); that is a handful of reports not MOSDOH s data. MOSDOH says it aims to address “the state s critical shortage of dentists” in Missouri so be ready to say where and why you want to practice. Ask admissions@atsu.edu how residency figures in its review. When is the MOSDOH DMD application deadline? MOSDOH s DMD page lists “Application submitted to

ADEA December 1 ” “DAT completed January 31” and “Secondary application January 31.” The page prints no years; by our reading for 2026–27 they are December 1 2026 and January 31 2027. Applicants are selected for interviews and admission “on a rolling basis ” with interviews between September and March. Its pages differ on DAT timing (its archived 2025–26 catalog said “on or before December 1 or the application year ” as printed) so take the stricter official scores in AADSAS by December 1 and confirm with admissions@atsu.edu. How many shadowing hours does MOSDOH require? MOSDOH s DMD page lists “Significant clinical shadowing or experience (100 hours strongly recommended)” among its application requirements and its catalog lists “shadowing in dentistry” among the criteria of its holistic review without giving a number. MOSDOH s wording is “strongly recommended ” not a stated minimum. It also lists “Significant leadership and service to

underserved populations (100 hours strongly recommended).” Since shadowing and service are among what it reviews treat 100 hours of each as the target and confirm with admissions@atsu.edu.
