Roseman Dental School Interview & Kira: DMD 2026-27
Roseman DMD guide from its own pages: GPA and DAT minimums, then Kira, then possibly an Interview Team meeting. The 2026-27 deadline has passed.
Roseman's three-year DMD checks GPA and DAT minimums, then requires a Kira video assessment before any interview with its Interview Team. Here is what Roseman publishes, what applicants report, and how to prepare. return ( <> Roseman DMD Requirements and Minimums Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine runs a three-year DMD with two pathways. Students in the Utah cohort spend all three years on the South Jordan, Utah campus; students in the Dual-state Utah/Nevada cohort spend the first year in South Jordan and the last two on the Henderson, Nevada campus. You indicate your cohort preference in your application. Roseman has 150 seats in the 2026–27 admissions cycle, and you apply through AADSAS plus Roseman's own supplemental application. Roseman publishes minimums rather than class averages, and its review begins by checking the GPA and DAT minimums: Requirement. Roseman's minimum. Note. Science GPA. 3.0. In
your last 30 hours of science courses. DAT, new 200–600 scale. 370 AA, 380 SNS, 360 PAT, 340 RC, 370 Biology. Roseman's admissions page. DAT, old 1–30 scale. 17 on AA, Total Science, Biology, RC and PAT. Roseman's catalog: “17 (or 3-digit equivalent)”. DAT age. No older than three years. At the time of application; your most recent score is used in the initial review. Credit hours. 60 semester (90 quarter). No degree required; any major. Shadowing. 50 hours. Paid dental hygienist or assistant work counts. Seats. 150. In the 2026–27 admissions cycle. Which DAT scale are Roseman's minimums on?. Both. Roseman's admissions page gives three-digit minimums, which are on the 200–600 scale the DAT has used since 1 March 2025. Its catalog states the old-scale minimum as 17 "or 3-digit equivalent". Roseman doesn't print an old-scale figure beside each three-digit one, and we don't add a conversion of our own. If a score of yours sits near a
minimum, ask dmdadmissions@roseman.edu. Roseman's pages disagree on which DAT sections count. Its DMD program page lists a minimum for four sections: "AA, SNS (TS), PAT & RC". Its admissions page (370 on the new scale) and its 2026–27 catalog (17, "or 3-digit equivalent") add Biology. The program page matches last year's catalog, which had no Biology minimum. Meet the minimum on all five, and if your Biology score is close, ask dmdadmissions@roseman.edu. Why this guide gives no acceptance rate. Roseman publishes its seat count and its minimums, but not how many people apply, interview or receive offers, or its admitted students' averages. No honest acceptance rate can be worked out from its pages. Prerequisite coursework Subject. Semester courses. Note. Biological sciences. 6. Lab if offered; Roseman recommends anatomy, physiology, microbiology, histology, cell biology and embryology. Inorganic/general chemistry. 2. Lab if offered.
Organic chemistry. 2. Lab if offered. Biochemistry. 1. No lab listed. Physics. 2. Lab if offered. Communication/English/speech. 2. English as a Second Language courses don't count. Courses, not credits. Roseman counts "the number of courses, not the number of credits, regardless of quarter or semester systems." Within ten years of applying, and finished before you start. You can apply with prerequisites still in progress; they must be complete before you matriculate. AP can count; IB and StraighterLine don't. One AP credit can fill one course requirement, never two. No limit on courses from a regionally accredited community college , as long as they transfer as equivalent to pre-dental courses at a four-year college or university. At least 60 semester (90 quarter) credit hours. A degree isn't required, though Roseman encourages you to finish yours. Letters: a letter from your school's health professions committee, which Roseman prefers
if your school offers one, or three letters: two from science faculty and one from another faculty member or a health professional who knows you well (not family). Lab, lecture and adjunct professors count; part-time advisors, TAs and psychology professors don't count as science professors. Below a minimum? Your file goes on hold. For the GPA, Roseman's catalog says it waits for "academic information that demonstrates the required performance level", and its admissions page says students without the minimum "will not be admitted". For the DAT, it waits for new scores, and if you haven't reached the minimums by October 1, you are denied for that cycle. No in-state preference. Roseman is a private institution and says each applicant's credentials "will be reviewed by the same criteria." 50 hours of shadowing, required. Roseman requires 50 hours of shadowing experience, and paid work as a dental hygienist or assistant counts toward it.
Roseman doesn't say by when the hours must be done, so finishing them before you apply is the safe plan. Kira: Required Before Any Interview Roseman says "All applicants who meet our minimum requirements will be invited to complete the Kira Talent Assessment as a required component of the holistic application process." Its catalog sets out the order: Step. What Roseman says. 1. Minimums. The Admissions Committee begins by checking your science GPA (3.0 or higher in your last 30 science hours) and your DAT minimums. 2. Kira. If you meet them, you are invited to complete the video Kira Talent Assessment. 3. Kira score. Scored by “a calibrated team of reviewers”; scores within the range the committee sets proceed to “a holistic in-depth analysis” of your application. 4. Interview. From that in-depth analysis, “potentially” an interview. Roseman describes Kira as a chance "to respond to questions that may indicate a match with our unique
team-based program." It doesn't publish how many questions there are, how long you get, or how long you have to finish; one 2025–26 applicant reported a 10-day window (October 2025). Our list of dental schools that use Kira explains how the platform works. Your setup is part of every recorded answer. Kira at Roseman is a video assessment. Test your camera, light and sound in the exact spot you will record, look at the lens rather than your own face, and answer as you would to a colleague: Roseman is listening for fit with a program that works in teams. The Roseman Interview: What Roseman Says In Roseman's words, "Our interview process is designed to present information that allows you and our program to mutually determine if you match with our approach to dental education." Here is what it publishes: It is by invitation. "Interviews are by invitation only," from August 2026 through spring 2027. It is more than one conversation. The
interview experience includes an overview of Roseman's approach (its Lifelong Colleague culture, its Six-Point Mastery Learning Model and its team-based clinical education model), conversations with current dental students, and a meeting with an Interview Team. Roseman lists what the Interview Team discusses: "Motivation for a career in dentistry"; "Areas of Major Development, Projects or Overcoming Adversity/Hardship"; "Demonstrated ability to work in teams"; "Match with the Lifelong Colleague Philosophy, Honor Code, and culture of the DMD program"; "Communication skills and professionalism"; "The individual differences the student will contribute to our educational program"; and "Other person-specific topics". It also informs you about immunizations and health requirements, essential functions, financial aid, campus safety, and "living and enjoying life in the Salt Lake City area." No photos. Roseman notes that "you may not record or
take pictures during the interview day to protect the privacy of other interview candidates." Roseman's 2026–27 catalog calls it "A meeting with an Interview Team" and doesn't say whether that meeting is in person or on Zoom. Last year's catalog said "An in-person or Zoom meeting with an Interview Team". Applicants in both cycles have reported in-person interviews. What applicants report These are posts by applicants on a public applicant forum, not Roseman's words: This cycle (2026–27): an in-state applicant who finished Kira on 26 June got an email on 17 July that their application was under review, and was invited by email on 22 July for an in-person interview on 21 August. An out-of-state applicant who finished Kira on 13 July got a "ready for review" email on 1 August, and was invited by email on 25 August for an in-person interview on 25 September or 7 October. In both reports, about three weeks passed between finishing Kira and
that email. Another applicant mentioned an interview on 18 September. Last cycle (2025–26): out-of-state applicants posted email invitations dated from 30 July to 4 October 2025, each for an in-person interview, on dates from 17 September to 7 November. One wrote that 3 October, 29 October and 7 November were the dates offered when they chose theirs. Applicants also mentioned interviews in January and on 6 February 2026. Kira (2025–26): one applicant wrote on 2 October 2025 that "they give a 10 day window" to complete it. Another reported a Kira invitation on 16 July 2025, five days after submitting their application on 11 July. Your cohort choice: on 8 November 2025, an interviewee posted an email from Roseman about the cohort preference chosen in AADSAS: "Now that you have experienced Roseman in-person and learned more about our Nevada clinics, we are giving you the opportunity to update your cohort preference if it has changed since
your original submission." The email said the form would close on 14 November and that "you will be unable to change your cohort preference after acceptance." Another applicant replied that "everybody got it." This is an applicant's copy of the email. Decisions: one applicant reported being waitlisted at 2:30 a.m. Eastern on 15 December 2025. What Roseman doesn't publish. How long the Interview Team meeting lasts, who is on the team, whether it has read your application, which campus hosts it, and what is asked. Its current catalog doesn't say whether the meeting is in person or on Zoom; applicants in both cycles report in person, so plan for that and go by your invitation. Roseman's DMD program and admissions pages, its catalog and its DMD handbook mention no CASPer, MMI or interview stations. Practice Your Roseman Answers Out Loud. The admissions office emails you when your application status changes. If you didn't apply, Roseman hasn't yet published dates for the next cycle. Its current first-year class began on June 17, 2026; it hasn't published the start date for the class entering in 2027. Roseman doesn't make individual appointments with applicants, "Due to fairness to all applicants". Send questions to dmdadmissions@roseman.edu. What Roseman Looks For Roseman's catalog says "The DMD program selects students who identify with and reflect the values of our Three Commitments, professionalism, ethics, and integrity." Its DMD program page describes three parts of its culture, and the catalog lists two more interview topics; each can anchor an answer: Lifelong Colleagues. Roseman encourages students, faculty and staff "to make
each and every interaction reflect a sincere desire to develop each other as lifelong colleagues." Have a story of helping someone else get better at something. The Honor Code: "I will not lie, cheat, steal, nor disrespect others and will uphold all professionalism standards befitting a healthcare provider." Be ready to say what that meant when it cost you something. Commitments to Each Other: "We commit to helping each other become the best we can be at what we do and celebrate our successes." Show that you want the whole team to succeed. Teamwork. Roseman says "We do everything in teams − courses, simulation clinic, clinic, research, and service." Prepare a story about a team that struggled and your part in fixing it. What you will contribute. Roseman seeks to admit "a diverse student population, each of whom contributes their unique background, skills, and experiences to their class". Know what you would bring to a class of 150. The
best Why Roseman material is in how it teaches. Roseman's Six-Point Mastery Learning Model has students take one didactic class at a time, typically from 8 am to 3 pm, with assessments every two to three weeks and 90% needed to pass each one; grades are Pass/No Pass. Team assessments follow individual ones, and a team score of at least 95% adds 5% of the total to each member's individual score. Students enter the clinic during their first month "to begin the transition into becoming a clinician," and Roseman's clinical model offers "the opportunity to treat multiple patients a day in primary and secondary provider teams." Students also lead outreach such as Give New Utahns a Smile, for refugees in Utah, and any student can ask Roseman's Patient Assistance Fund for financial help with a patient's treatment. Connect one of these, and the pathway you chose, to how you learn and the dentist you want to become. Roseman's catalog adds that
applicants "are strongly encouraged to read and reflect on the description of Roseman DMD's unique learning environment that appears on the AADSAS website." Read it before your interview day. The practice questions below are ours, built on the topics Roseman lists. Roseman does not publish its interview questions. Internationally trained dentist? Roseman does not publish its interview questions; these are practice questions built on the topics it says its Interview Team discusses. Roseman doesn t say whether the team has read your application so build a 90-second arc that works either who you are the two or three experiences that led you to dentistry and why a three-year team-based program like Roseman s is the next step. Why dentistry? “Motivation for a career in dentistry” is the first topic Roseman lists for its Interview Team. Anchor your answer in something you saw or did during your shadowing hours then say what it confirmed for you. Why Roseman and why your cohort? Use what Roseman says about its one block at a time 90% needed to pass every assessment clinic from the first month and a clinical model with multiple patients a day in provider teams. Then explain the pathway you chose Utah or Utah/Nevada. Connect both to how you learn; praise for the name is not a reason.
Roseman s Honor Code says “I will not lie cheat steal nor disrespect others.” What does that mean to you? Your “Match with the Lifelong Colleague Philosophy Honor Code and culture of the DMD program” is one of the topics Roseman lists. Go beyond agreeing with the describe a time living by a rule like it cost you something. Behavioral Tell me about a time a team you were on struggled. What did you do? Roseman lists “Demonstrated ability to work in teams” among its interview topics and says “We do everything in teams.” Keep the setup short and spend most of the answer on your part in getting the team back on track. Describe the hardest challenge you have overcome. “Areas of Major Development Projects or Overcoming Adversity/Hardship” is a topic Roseman names. Choose something real keep the story short and spend most of the answer on what you did next and what changed. Tell me about a project you are proud of. The same topic names
projects. Pick one where you can show what you did yourself what went wrong and what you would do differently. What would you contribute to your class? Roseman s Interview Team discusses “The individual differences the student will contribute to our educational program.” Point to something specific in your background skills or experience and say how classmates would gain from it. Ethical / Scenario A teammate isn t preparing for a team assessment. What do you do? At Roseman team assessments follow individual ones and a team score of at least 95% adds 5% of the total to each member s individual score so this is a real situation. Show that you would talk to your teammate directly and offer help first and that you care about their learning not just the points. You see a classmate cheating on an exam. What do you do? Roseman s Honor Code applies to all students faculty and staff. Describe an escalation path from a direct conversation to the
proper channels and say why integrity matters when patients trust your license. A patient needs treatment they cannot afford. What do you do? Acknowledge the patient without judgment explore legitimate options such as phased treatment or a community clinic and never lower the standard of care. Roseman students can also advocate for a patient before its Patient Assistance Fund committee which grants financial assistance according to the patient s need. Treat Kira as your first interview Roseman invites applicants who meet its GPA and DAT minimums to a video Kira assessment scored by a calibrated team of reviewers; scores within the committee s designated range go on to an in-depth review and potentially an interview. A 2025–26 applicant reported a 10-day window to finish it so set up a quiet well-lit spot in advance. Prepare a story for each topic Roseman lists Roseman publishes what its Interview Team motivation for dentistry; areas of
major development projects or overcoming adversity; teamwork; your match with its Lifelong Colleague Philosophy Honor Code and culture; communication and professionalism; what you would contribute; and “other person-specific topics.” Have one specific story ready for each of the first six. Know why you chose your cohort You indicate a cohort preference Utah or Utah/Nevada in your application. In November 2025 an interviewee posted an email from Roseman offering a chance to update that preference which said it can t be changed after acceptance; another applicant replied that everybody got it. Be ready to explain yours. Show you want to learn Roseman s way Roseman teaches one block at a time requires 90% to pass every assessment and says it does “everything in teams.” Its interview experience includes an overview of that approach and the Interview Team discusses your match with its culture so say concretely why it suits how you learn.
